We all need encouragement- we live in a world where it’s easy to feel the weight of discouragement and hurt. In these times of covid-19 as we’re becoming more discontent and uncertain about what’s happening around us, it’s even easier to feel down and depressed. And it’s because of this new reality that we need encouragement even more. Blessing others is a way for us to feel God’s presence as we show love to his creation, to his people. The Bible is filled with people blessing other- God blesses. Jesus blesses. Priests bless. Kings bless. Prophets and prophetesses bless. Parents bless their children. The old bless the young. This is what we are called to do, and it can bring us closer to God. As we serve others, we can experience a closeness to God. Blessing others forces us to step outside of ourselves, look to another, and focus on them, sharing Gods’ love with them.

What are some examples of Blessing in the Bible?

Genesis 27

Deuteronomy 3

Isaiah 43

Jeremiah 31

Mark 1

Mark 10

Acts 11

1 Thessalonians 5

Revelation 12
